Page 2 - IC Newsletter Summer 2004

With the academic year coming to its end, a new genera-
tion of IC students, equipped with a high standard of educa-
tion and the intangible IC spirit, is finally ready to leave its
hallways.
To best illustrate the “IC Spirit,” we have chosen to rely on
the words of our alumni and our teachers. Thus, with this
issue we are launching two new features. The first, “My IC
Story,” will introduce you to various alumni from different
generations who will recount their special experiences, and
explain what IC did for them and continues to mean to
them. The second feature, “Teachers’ Updates,” will high-
light the experiences of your former IC teachers, offer a
peek at the man/woman behind the teacher, and provide an
update of their recent activities.
The “IC Spirit” has also manifested itself in our alumni’s par-
ticipation in a variety of events, reunions, and trips, as well
as the financial support they grant to the school annually.
The growth in our database has been marked, as some 6000
readers received our fall/winter 2004 issue, and 7000 will
be receiving the spring/summer publication. During the
months of December and April, Dr. Charles and I visited
Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, and
were thrilled with the warm welcome offered us by IC
alumni and friends, over 300 of whom were gathered at the
Dubai and Abu Dhabi dinners. The Annual Gala Dinner
held at BIEL, Beirut, on April 26, 2004, assembled more
then 520 alumni and friends, exceeding last year’s reunion,
which united around 480. As for this year’s Annual Fund, it
has increased significantly (by 42%). We thank our gener-
ous and supportive graduates and friends.
This “IC Spirit” will animate us for the rest of our lives. We
dedicate this newsletter with all our love and devotion to
our alumni, friends, parents, teachers, and trustees.
Best Wishes,
