went to the UK to complete his MA in
International Political Economy and
PHD in European Studies at the Univer-
sity of Birmingham. After working as a
lecturer in Birmingham for three years,
he moved to the Netherlands and is cur-
rently a Lecturer in Politics and Devel-
opment at the Institute of Social Studies
(ISS) in the Hague.
Leila Kabalan ’94
received her BBA
at AUB and an AA degree in interac-
tive design in San Francisco. She moved
back to Beirut in 2005. She is married to
Bassem Safadi ’85 and has two children:
Samer and Maya.

are happy
to announce the birth of their second
daughter Yasma on 26-6-2007. Alia,
Yasma’s older sister now two, is getting
ready to join IC in October 08. Alia will
be a third generation IC student.
Ghinwa Sleit Tarabey ’94
and Tamer
Tarabey are pleased to announce the
birth of their baby boy, Tarek, born on
Sept. 27th.

Rima Haddad ’95
graduated from
AUB with nutrition and dietetics and
worked in clinical nutrition in Beirut
and Qatar. She got married in Sept 2003
and now has a beautiful 8-month-old
son, Salim. “IC was my second home. I
went there when I was in first grade in
elementary school,” she writes. “I missed
only two years during the war but then
returned and graduated from IC.”
Amr El-Kebbie ’95
married Sarah
Halwany on August 30th 2007. He is
based in Lebanon and is working in
households and toiletries chemicals for
the Middle East.
Raed Adlouni ’95
recently got engaged
and is working for Hewlett-Packard (HP)
in Dubai as a Technical Consultant.
Raffi Boladian ’96
is a Scientific Office
Manager for Omnipharma and Omnilab
in Beirut.
Rawan Shayboub ‘96
and Dr. Ziyad
Mahfoud got married on September 8,
2007. “We’re staying in Lebanon head
strong!” she writes.
Nouhal Yamout ’96
graduated with
a BS in biology from AUB then got an
MBA from LAU and is currently working
at the banking control commission. She
married Mohammed Shatila ’90 in 2002
and has two children: Aya and Aboudi.
Sherine Hashim ’96
graduated from
AUB in ‘00 with a major in Business Ad-
ministration. She has been working with
BAT (British American Tobacco) since
2005 in the marketing department.
Rami Hajjar ’97
and
Mayya Kabbani
’97
got married on 09/08/07 (August
9th), and are now living in Dubai, UAE.
Michel El Azar ‘97
is currently work-
ing as a project contractor within the
mobile telecom sector. He worked in
Jakarta, Indonesia with Nokia Siemens
Networks (NSN) for the THREE opera-
tor until September 2007. He is currently
in Ljubljana, Slovenia working with NSN
for the TUSMOBIL operator.
