Saad Khatib ’01
is currently managing
the Amaseena restaurant at the Ritz-
Carlton Hotel in Dubai and assisting in
Events and Banquet Operations simulta-
neously.
Karim Choueri ’02
finished his Mas-
ters in AgroM, France and is currently a
Project Manager at Nestle S.A.
Marc El Hage ‘02
received a Degree
in Dentistry - “Major de promotion”:
OVERALL RANKING 1st (over the 5
years) from Saint Joseph University –
Beirut in July ‘07.
He is currently doing his Specialization
internship in Oral Surgery and Implan-
tology at the University of Geneva - Swit-
zerland (3 year program) and attending
simultaneously the Certificat d’Etudes
Supérieures (CES) at the Lyon University
– France.
“I really miss those unforgettable IC
days ....” he writes.
Mona Itani ‘02
graduated from AUB in
2006 and has been working with Nokia
Siemens Networks since November ’06.
She is engaged to Samer Sharafeddine
and is pursuing her masters in Engineer-
ing Management at AUB.
George Elias ’02
graduated from the
American University of Beirut with a
Bachelor Degree in Computer and Com-
munication Engineering in 2006. He was
then awarded a scholarship from the
Japanese Government to study at Osaka
University, Japan. He enrolled in the
Graduate School of Economics where
the courses are taught in Japanese. He
is learning Japanese while working on
his thesis. His financial research is about
‘The Sovereign Wealth Funds in the Gulf
Countries’.
He is currently the only Lebanese liv-
ing in Osaka.
Karim Ghandour ’02
earned a Me-
chanical Engineering degree from the
American University of Beirut. He
worked in CCC Abu Dhabi right after his
graduation and is now back in Lebanon
working with Future Pipes Industries as
an Area Sales Representative. His next
step is a master’s degree in Engineering
Management or M.B.A in the U.S.A.
Hassan Makkouk ’02
is in his final
semester of his BE Civil Engineering, and
will be starting a Double Masters degree
in Structural Engineering and Project
Management at the University of New
South Wales in January. He is currently
working for Arup Consulting Engineers
as a structural engineer in their Infra-
structure Department. He recently won
the Jack Kaganer Prize for Structural En-
gineering and The Institute of Engineers
Australia Campus Award for Industrial
Experience.
Karma Hamady ’03
studied graphic
design at AUB and is in London where
she is currently working for Rana Salam
Design on different projects including
an in-store fashion magazine called Bou-
tique 1, for Boutique in Dubai. She plans
to study for her masters either next year
or the year after.
Adham Ghandour ‘03
pursued a
BBA in accounting at AUB and has been
working since graduating in 2007, as a
Marketing Coordinator in ISSA Holding,
which is a Lebanese company owning
subsidiaries with strong presence in the
Arab world and the region.
“I am currently shadowing my father
in managing agriculture projects and
other commercial businesses,” he writes.
“My aim is to establish my own market-
ing company in the near future.”
Ahmad Yassine ’03
graduated from
AUB with a BA in Accounting. He is cur-
rently pursuing a masters in accountancy
and “was part of the AUB varsity soccer
team!” he writes.
Maher Abdel-Sattar ’03
moved to
California and spent two years at Glen-
dale Community College, followed
by two years at UCLA. He graduates
from UCLA on December 14th 2007
with a degree in Molecular, Cell, & De-
velopmental Biology and a minor in Hu-
man Complex Systems.
“My educational experience here
has been truly rewarding and full of
memorable experiences,” he writes. “I
took a variety of interesting courses, af-
forded most of my education by myself,
did over 200 hours of volunteering in a
hospital setting, worked for the UCLA
Orientation Program, did research in a
botany lab at UCLA, got very involved
on campus and joined over 15 different
student organizations, received a number
of awards and scholarships, studied ma-
rine biology abroad, tutored for various
subjects, became a teaching assistant for
a freshman biology course, participated
in many philanthropic events, developed
good leadership and communication
skills, made good connections with
Alumni and professionals, built a very
large network of amazing friends and
shared great moments with them all.”
He will be taking a year off to travel and
spend some time with his family in Leba-
non. “I also intend to look for different
internships and employment opportuni-
ties in the US and perhaps in France as
well,” he writes.
Ahmad S. Jamal Eddine ’04
trans-
ferred to McGill University in Montreal,
Canada after spending two years at AUB.
He is pursuing his studies in Econom-
ics and Management and expecting to
graduate in Dec. 2008. In 2006, He was
