A fund in memory of our beloved alum-
nus
Rami Merhi ’92
has been established
and titled the “Rami Merhi Fund.” The
money donated to the fund will be used
to renovate the Secondary School’s biol-
ogy laboratory, located in the Secondary School building.
The renovated laboratory will contain advanced equipment
that will benefit IC students for years to come, and will
hold Rami’s name permanently.
Bernard Geneslé taught French,
History and Literature at IC for 30
years. Mr. Geneslé passed away 2
years ago in his hometown of
Valfrembert, France. Yet Bernard
Geneslé’s loyalty and love for this
school are in evidence even beyond
his death. IC inherited a plot of land,
which Mr. Geneslé generously
bequeathed to us; the property was
sold and the money duly used to establish the “Bernard
Geneslé Fund.”
A creative writing award was established in Mr.
Geneslé’s name: eligible contestants must be secondary
school students who excel in creative or expository writ-
ing in French.
In memory Of
It is with great sadness that we announce
the passing of Ahmad Assaf, the long-
time physical education teacher at Ras
Beirut Upper Elementary School. He was
part of the IC family for 16 years. Many
hand-made condolences cards were sent
to his family by his loving students.
Ahmad Assaf will forever be remem-
bered for his warm smile and his caring
and generous spirit!
