In June 2003, Dr. Arthur Charles and Mr. Moufid Beydoun trav-
eled to Amman, Jordan, where they spent two days meeting
with prominent IC alumni and friends. A lively reception was held
at the Marriott Hotel where more than 40 IC alumni were pres-
ent. The arrangements were coordinated with IC board member

In October, Dr. Charles and Mr. Beydoun visited Saudi Arabia
(Riyadh and Jeddah), where they had the chance to meet with
many alumni and friends. The arrangements for their visit in
Riyadh were coordinated with IC Board member His Excellency
Sheikh Mohamad Al-Soleiman
’59,
Dr. Nabil Daouk
’63 and
Mr. Riad Murtada
’61. On the first night
Dr. Daouk
held a din-
ner held in his home for more than 75 IC alumni and friends, and
the second night Sheikh Al-Soleiman hosted a dinner at his
house for about 60 Saudi and Lebanese alumni.
The arrangements in Jeddah, were coordinated with

Mr. Samir Kreidieh

Mr.
Kreidieh
hosted a dinner on the last night, where many alum-
ni were present.

IC Board of Trustees in
Lebanon for Their Annual
Meeting
IC honored Board members at a reception held by the
IC president, Arthur Charles at Martin House. William
Turner, Chairman of the Board, gave a speech in
which he singled out the presence of Ian Reed, great-
grandson of IC founder Alexander MacLachan, and
now a member of the Board of Trustees. Turner also
gave a special tribute to former president Tom
Schuller, under whose presidency the school became
independent from the American University of Beirut in
1961.
