Khaled Taki ’69
has just established his own franchising
research, evaluation, training, and negotiations group
known as F B C Franchise Business Consultants, based in
Wardiyeh, Beirut. Khaled plans to establish branches
across the Arab world. He is being joined by other IC and
AUB alumni as consultants. Khaled can be reached at

CLASS OF ’70 - ’79
Zakir Siddik ’72
is now working as an independent busi-
ness consultant in Saudi Arabia, focusing mainly on the
tourism industry. However, Zakir devotes a large portion
of his time to voluntary work, specifically in the field of
helping disabled people. He is one of the founders of the
“Friends of People with Special Needs” committee in
Jeddah. This committee assists the disabled in securing a
respectable life through training and employment, the
promotion of craftsmanship, and raising awareness in
society. Zakir is married to Hanan Dajani and they are
blessed with two children: Sami (17), and Samia (15).
Hassan Traboulsi ’72
has recently moved to Abu Dhabi to
become General Manager of Al Khazna Insurance
Company, a leader in its field. One of the first things that
Hassan did when he settled in Abu Dhabi was to look up
IC alumni. He was happy to find former classmate Ramzi
Modad, with whom he has agreed to arrange as many IC
alumni gatherings as possible, for he believes that noth-
ing is stronger than the friendships you make at school.
To quote Hassan: “IC alumni are very special indeed!”
Amer El Hage ’73
is an independent consultant to instru-
ment development and manufacturing companies in the
fields of product design, as well as program management,
verification, and validation. A member of the SBS (Society
for Biomolecular Screening) since 1997, Amer has been
an active participant in and proponent of the ANSI-SBS
Microplate standards. Amer was awarded this year’s SBS
Accomplishment Award in recognition of his stellar
efforts on the Microplate Standards Committee. Amer
resides in Menlo Park, California, with his wife Roxanne
and their daughter.
Mario Sawaya ’73
, Senior Vice President of Investments at
Wachovia Securities, and
Joumana Alami ’84
, Senior
Relationship Manager at Byblos Bank, got engaged on
September 15, 2004; they plan to marry in January 13,
2005.
Muhieddine Seoud ’73
is Professor of Clinical Medicine at
AUBMC; he is the President-Elect of the Lebanese Society
of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and will be the
President in November 2004. He is married to Randa
Kawakibi, and they are blessed with three children: Khaled
(17), Talal (14), and Judy (8), all of whom are IC students.
Composer/Music Producer
Sari Dajani ’74
has been nomi-
nated for the prestigious Gemaux Awards. This nomination,
his third, is for “Best Music for a TV Series-Drama.” The
Gemaux Awards are given annually for excellence in
Canadian TV and Film. Sari is responsible for at least 40 TV
themes and music compositions in Canada, the US, and
Germany, including Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
themes for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City as
well as the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Along with
Dazmo Music (www.dazmomusique.com) —which Sari
co-owns—where he composes for TV and film, Sari is the
president of artist development company, PSD Inc.
(www.psdmusique.com).
Sadeer Hannush ’75
is an Attending Surgeon in the
Cornea Service Department of Wills Eye Hospital, in
Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
Rashad Barakat ’76
graduated with a BBA in International
Business from Schiller University in London. He then
moved to Saudi Arabia, where he headed the Mercedes
Benz Sales Operation in the Eastern Province. In 1993
Rashad relocated to Damascus, where he married Aziza Al
Bahri, with whom he has had four children: Sedra (16), Sam
(14), Mahmoud (11), and Abdullah (5). He is the exclusive
agent for many companies in the building industry. Rashad
would like very much to hear from his IC friends.
Marwan Haffar ’76
is Business Excellence Manager of
Nestle Middle East in Dubai.
Yahya Ishak ’76
is currently managing the business office
of House of Invention, which deals with activities like
telecommunications, commercial agencies, and consul-
tancy services in Yemen.
Gilbert Khoury ’76
has been living in Dallas, Texas, since
1988, where he works in the freight and food business
(self-employed). He is married and blessed with one child
Gilbert (15). He and his family visit Beirut often.
David Antypas ’77
lived in the suburbs of Nashville,
Tennessee for 15 years, 12 of which he spent in the Sales
& Management department for a publishing company. For
the last ten years, though, David has worked in the world
of investments with Edward Jones Company in the US.
He has recently been accredited as a Certified Financial
Planner as well as an Asset Management Specialist.
David lives in Brentwood, Tennessee, with his wife Gwen
and their four great kids: Philip (11), Nayla (10), Ramzi
(6), and Laila (3).
