Hratch Kalaidjian ’82
is now living in Sherman Oaks,
California. He got married to Sueli Zeiser on August 8, 2003.
Hratch is working as SQL Server DBA. “Any old classmate is
welcome to call and/or come and visit us!” Hratch writes.

Maher Rayes ’82
and
May Hinnawi ’83
have been married
since 1999 and live in Dubai with their two children, Tala
(4) and Rami (2). Maher works as a Management Consultant
with Meirc Training and Consulting. The Rayes family would

Malek Wehbe ’82
and his wife Ramla Shamma'a, daughter
of Trustee Emeritus Dr. Munir H. Shamma'a, are proud to
announce the birth of their first daughter, Jana, on
September 20, 2004. They are currently living in Beirut and

Paula Abboud ’83
is a full time instructor of English at LAU
(Beirut campus). In 1995, she married Samer Habre, a pro-
fessor of mathematics at LAU. They are the proud parents of
Nadeem (8) and Sari (4), both of whom are IC students. She

Hani Asfour ’83
and
Rula Nasrallah Asfour ’84
have recent-
ly welcomed their third child into the world; Raja was born
on Feb 2, 2004. The happy couple is also blessed with
daughters Nadia (9) and Maia (5).
After 7 1/2 years of managing various aspects of Intel’s busi-
ness in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa,
Nadim
Jaroudi ’83
decided to take on a new challenge as Regional
Marketing Director with Computer Associates’ startup opera-
tion in the Arab world. He will continue to reside in Dubai.
May Matta ’83
and husband
Duane Aliah ’84
would like to
announce the birth of their baby boy Kiran Gabriel Aliah on
March 19, 2004, in New York City. Although Kiran was off
to a bumpy start, having arrived 3 months early and needing
to spend a few months in hospital before he could come
home, he has now put all this unpleasantness behind him, is
doing great, and won’t be looking back!
Mosbah Salam ’83
is presently budgeting as well as control-
ling finances as a Department Manager at Solidere.
Malek Tabbal (‘83)
graduated with a BS and MS in Physics
from AUB, and then earned a PhD in Applied Physics from
the École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1994. After a
Postdoctoral Fellowship at INRS in Canada, he joined AUB
in 1997 as an Assistant Professor, and is presently Associate
Professor and Chair of the Physics Department. Malek
received AUB's Teaching Excellence Award for 2003-04.
Malek is married to Hala Saleh, and they are blessed with
two daughters: Yasmina (7) and Layla (5). He can be reached

Lamia Jaroudi ’84
lives and works in Dubai, as Strategic
Marketing Communications Director with TMH.
Karim Musfy ’84
moved to New York in September 2003, a
month after his marriage to Dana Chehayeb. He is working
as a Project Manager with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, an
architecture firm on Wall Street that is responsible for the
new World Trade Center and other important projects.
Karim and Dana are expecting a baby girl in February 2005.
Imad Ghandour ’85
has recently moved to Dubai and
opened a new office for his consulting company, Money
Line ME. Imad was also elected a board member of the
Gulf Venture Capital Association, based in Bahrain.
Amjad Kaissi ’85
and his wife Dania welcomed their second
child on June 13, 2003. Mohamad is the younger brother of
Yasmina, who joined IC this year at the nursery level.
Ali Siblani ’85
is founder and CEO of Envision TEC, a global
company headquartered in Marl, Germany, with offices in
Michigan and Hong Kong. He has received the most presti-
gious award from JCK for Innovation in the Manufacturing
of Jewelry for the year 2004. The Perfactory system, which
allows the manufacturing of any piece of jewelry regardless
of complexity, was the largest seller to the Jewelry Industry
globally in 2004. The system was introduced to the Middle
Eastern Jewelry market in August 2004 at the Jewelry show
in BIEL, Lebanon.
Ahmad Birjawi ’86
is General Manager of Chloride
Industrial Middle East, based in Dubai Internet City. He is
happy to announce his engagement to Mona Srour, an event
which took place on September 20. Ahmad and Mona met
a year ago on a plane back to Beirut; they plan to wed on
July 30, 2005.
Kameel Mroueh ’86
is back in Lebanon, where he conducts
dance classes in Modern Jazz, Oriental, and Classical Ballet.

Samir Fakhri ’87
recently took up a position at the
University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He is
head of the Rhinology and Sinus Surgery division in the
department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
Samer Khodor ’88
has been working as Middle East Manager
for the French company Pennel Automotive, a part of SIOEN
Industries, since 1993. He has been transferred from Riyadh
