Campus News
Before and After
The IC Parents Committee, Friends of the Elementary
School, and the IC Alumni Association, along with Vice
President for Alumni and Relations Mr. Moufid Beydoun
’64, all played a role in raising funds for three noticeable
renovations at IC Ras Beirut.
The athletic field on the upper
campus has undergone a dra-
matic transformation, turning
from red (a mixture of sand and
soil) to green (with new artifi-
cial turf)! Fund-raising efforts
are being directed by the IC
Alumni Association.
Renovations were also made to
the Amphitheater, which now
has a new stage area.
Eventually, it will be fully
equipped with a sound and
lighting system. In addition to
its past uses, it is now perfectly
suited for plays and musical performances. The fund-rais-
ing activities on this front owe their success to the Ras
Beirut Parents Committee and its active president, Mrs.
Joyce Jamaleddine.
Last, but not least, are two related
additions that benefit IC young-
sters. A rubberized surface has
been applied to play areas in the
Ras Beirut Elementary building,
thereby making them safer for chil-
dren, and new furniture has been
added, which will allow for a more
organized use of space. Thanks go
to the hard work of the Friends of
the Elementary School Committee,
which consists of IC parents.
All fund-raising activities were
coordinated with the Alumni and
Development Office.
The old furniture in some RB Elementary classrooms did not give
our students enough space.
The new furniture in some RB Elementary classrooms will allow for
