Khaled Nasser ’76
and his lovely wife Katrina are happy to
announce the birth of their third child, baby boy Karim.
Khaled holds a BA and MA in Mathematics and Political
Philosophy from Cambridge University in England. Khaled
is a partner at InterWest Partners, a leading diversified ven-
ture capital firm in Menlo Park, California.
CLASS OF ’80 - ’89
After IC,
Omar Ardati ’80
graduated from AUB with a BA in
Business Administration in 1984. Today, he is Co-Partner
and General Manager of Aradati Trading as well as Owner
and General Manager of Fish and Fun.
Amine Jabbour ’80
and
Lina Nassar ’84
have been married
since 2001 and have 2 wonderful sons - Alain is 2 years old
and Alex is 3 months old. They live in the UAE. Amine is
Director of Finance at Amiri Flight in Abu Dhabi and Lina
owns and manages her own child day care center, Tender
Love and Care (TLC), in Dubai Media City.

got engaged in the
spring; they are celebrating their wedding on December 29.
In August 2005,
Adeeb Kayed ’83
moved to Dubai (from Al
Ein) and established his own Neurology private practice at
the British Medical Consulting Centre, Dubai, UAE.
Dr. Nabil Maamari ’83
earned his diploma from St. Joseph
University in December 1991. He also hold a B.S in Biology
from AUB, as well as a Master's in Public Health, with an
emphasis on Health Management and Policy. Nabil is cur-
rently trying to find a suitable job in the field of medical
administration.
Dr. Osama Mawlawi ’83
and his wife Hadia are blessed
with two beautiful daughters. Osama obtained his PhD in
Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University and is
now an Associate Professor at the MD Anderson Cancer
Center at the University of Texas Graduate School of
Biomedical Science in Houston.
Vera Jarrous Ghanem ’84
and her husband Edward
Ghanem would like to inform you of the birth of their new-
born twins, Joseph & Michael, on July 12, 2005.
Semaan Khalaf ’84
is President and CEO of Vernier
Networks, which creates security solutions for wired and
wireless networks to assure business continuity for the enter-
prise. Semaan brings more then 15 years of experience in
the high-tech industry and in-depth knowledge of IT securi-
ties to his work. Semaan received his BS in Engineering
from AUB, and his master’s degree in Computer Engineering
from Syracuse University.
Majed Mneimneh ’84
is married to Nadine Salam, and they
have two boys, Bachir (7) and Salah (5), both enrolled at IC.
Majed graduated with a PhD in International Finance from
the US. The subject of his thesis was building a financial
model for emerging markets. Majed works as a financial
consultant for major firms in Hong Kong, Malaysia,
Vietnam, and Singapore, and is also General Manager of Al
Liwaa newspaper.
Nadim Razzouk ’85
is President of Victoire Finance Capital
LLZ in New York. Nadim founded Victoire in 1996. He has
12 years of experience in investment management and
began his Wall Street career at Mabon Nugent & Co. Nadim
holds a BA from Syracuse University.
Dr. Bassem Safadi ’85
has moved to the American
University Hospital’s Surgical Department in Beirut,
Lebanon. Dr. Safadi was Assistant Professor of Surgery at
Stanford University as well as Director of the Bariatric
Program at the Palo Alto V.A. Medical Center. Bassem com-
pleted a fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery
at UCSF and has been on faculty at Stanford since May
2000.
Nizar Zakka ’85
is pleased to inform you that he has been
appointed Vice Chairman of the World IT Service Alliance
(WITSA). It is a great honor to have a Lebanese as Vice
Chairman of this international body based in Washington,
DC. It is the first time ever to have an Arab in this position
at WITSA. WITSA Vice Chairmen have traditionally hailed
from G8 economies.
Dr. George Bitar ’86
, who is currently the Medical Director
of the Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute in the Metropolitan
Washington DC Area, got engaged to Rima Khalaf in Beirut
on August 24, 2005. The wedding is to take place in Beirut
in May 2006. Rima is currently working on her PhD in
Electrical Engineering at UCLA.
Kameel Mroueh ’86
has been teaching dance since 1988,
and is currently teaching Modern/Jazz and Belly Dancing at
AMADEUS Dance and Music School at Sodeco Square,
Beirut.
Ahmad Ouri ’86
is the President of Thomson’s Technicolor
Digital Cinema in Los Angeles, USA. Since joining
Technicolor in 2002, Ahmad has been responsible for defin-
ing strategy and managing advanced technology relation-
ships with Hollywood studios. He holds a BS in Electrical
Engineering MSEE and an MBA from the University of Utah.
Assem Nawam ’87
is now married and has three lovely
children. He is Managing Partner in Power Tech Company,
which specializes in DC power, telecom infrastructure, and
batteries.
Rana Abdul Wahab Al Qurtas ’88
holds the position of
Senior Private Banking Manager at the National Bank of
Kuwait. Rana studied computer science in college.
