Lama Abou-Ajram ’95
and Fadi Hatoum celebrated their
wedding day in BIEL surrounded by family and friends on
September 3, 2005. The newlyweds now reside in Jeddah,
KSA.
Shakib Ferzli ’95
and
Paula Haddad ’96
were blessed by
the birth of their first child, a baby girl named Jessica, on
September 4, 2005. Jessica was born in AUH and will move
with her parents back to Kuwait, where they both work.
Nagham El-Khalil '95
and
Ziad Naamani '94
were blessed
with a second baby boy, Rami, born on July 1, 2005. Rami
has an older brother, Nizar, who is now 4 years old.
Nagham and Ziad reside and work in Jeddah, as of 2000.
Nadine Maktabi ’95
is currently expecting her second baby,
due in December. She is the mother of Karen (2), who will
hopefully be joining IC next fall. Nadine shuttles back and
forth between Beirut and Riyadh, KSA.
Karim Abdallah ’96
graduated in 2000 from AUB with a BE in
Civil Engineering. He then received his master’s degree in
Construction Management from Penn State University. Karim
worked with Turner Construction in Connecticut for a time,
and is now at Cornell University, working on his MBA.
Hani Bawab ’96
and his wife Maya would like to announce
the birth of their first baby boy, Malek, who was born on
June 23, 2005.
Cindy Dagher ’96
and her husband have recently moved to
Houston, Texas, where she is working as a pediatric dieti-
tian at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Rana Feghali ’96
is now working as editor/translator at
Asharq Al Awsat newspaper in London, UK, where she
resides with her husband Peter Leech.
Kamal Kassab ’96
worked with Proctor and Gamble Levant
for seven months in 2002-2003, then moved to work with
CCIC in Abu-Dhabi, where he remains. Kamal will be mov-
ing to Qatar in early 2006.
Joe Rahim ’96
is the proud father of a baby boy—born June
15—whom he named Ashlyn Eathem. Beginning in April
2005, Joe became General Manager of Golden Tulip Times
Hotel in Bucharest, Romania, the youngest general manager
in Romania.
Sammy Saad ’96
spent five years in Boston, where he com-
pleted a master’s in Molecular Biology, and also obtained
an MBA from Boston University. This summer he married
his high-school sweetheart, Hala El Wadi, in an August cel-
ebration attended by IC classmates

George Kahwaji ’96 and Raji Khoury ’96
. He currently
resides in Bahrain and is working for Ernst & Young's
Middle East head office, where he is responsible for strategy
and planning for their technology and knowledge division.

Mustafa Shaaban ’96
got engaged on September 2, 2005 to
Miss Diana Barakeh. He is currently working as a Systems
Sales Engineer with Alcatel/Hoshanco, Voice and Data
Communications Division, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Ghina Yamout ’96
graduated from AUB with a BS in
Chemistry in 1999 and an MS in Environmental Technology
in 2002; she recently completed her PhD in Water
Resources Engineering and Civil Engineering at the
University of Florida. Ghina is working for Parsons in West
Palm Beach, Florida, and got married three years ago to
Husam Jumaa ’97. Husam has a PhD in Analytical Surface
Chemistry.
Michel El Azar ’97
was working with Jinny Software until
June 2005, when he moved to Alfa, one of the GSM mobile
operators in Lebanon. He is still working toward a Master's
Degree in Engineering Management (MEM) at AUB.
Carla Gebran ’97
graduated from AUB with a BA in
Business Administration, and obtained an MBA in 2002.
She has been working for Procter and Gamble ever since.
Nada El Ghalayini ’97
and
Riad Al Mawass ’97
got married
on June 25, 2005, in a nice ceremony held at Mövenpick
Hotel with the presence of family and friends. The newly-
weds reside in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Riad works as a
Section Manager in IATCO, and Nada is hunting for a job
as a Dietician.
Tarek Chbaklo ’98
and Lamis el Amine got engaged on
June 17, 2005. Lamis is the head of job placement services
at AUST. In 2004, Tarek became a partner in his new family
company "Lab Care" (previously Health Care), sole distribu-
tors of Dade Behring Inc. in Lebanon, one of the world’s
largest clinical diagnostics companies. Headquartered in
Deerfield, Illinois and Marburg, Germany, it has operations
in 40 countries. Tarek works as the IT/Service Manager,
while his web design company ST Designers continues to
grow in Lebanon and Germany.
Buchra Khayyat ’98
and Imad Joumaa celebrated their wed-
ding day on June 4, 2005, surrounded by family and friends
at the Khayyat Villa in Doha.
Rabih Chaar ’99
and
Layla Chebaro ’99
celebrated their
wedding day on July 8, 2005, at the Metropolitan Hotel, in
the company of family and friends.
Farah Daher ’99
and Mark Abi-Haila celebrated their wed-
ding day during the month of August at Panorama, Faqra
Club surrounded by family and friends.
